Losing a toenail..last stage

After the marathon in February, I found that the middle toes on both of my feet were bruised. The right toenail was the most affected, and after a couple of weeks it was completely black. For all of you who have experienced this, you know that once the blood is drained (which is completely painless) it ends up leaving a separation of the nail from the nail bed. If you are able to keep this nail attached at all to your toe, you are lucky, but what often happens is that it begins to separate and come off completely. My toenail took about 6 weeks to finally get to this point...
